AutoZone, Inc. UI Design Manager in Memphis, Tennessee

Position Summary

AutoZone’s Digital Experience team works to create extraordinary journeys for our customers across a variety of digital products including websites, applications and enterprise software.

As a UI Manager you will lead a cross-functional team by being a strong advocate, a collaborative partner, and someone that can help your team grow, develop and master their craft.

Key Responsibilities

•Provide constructive feedback to team members.

•Work with product teams and stakeholders to balance user needs with business goals and objectives.

•Facilitate creative brainstorming sessions and workshops to enhance the quality and value of designs.

•Know the latest emerging trends in design and technologies and push the team to drive innovation.

•Coach and mentor team members through regular 1:1’s, annual reviews and individual development plans.

•Conduct regular assessments and recommend improvements to designs, organization, and processes.

•Develop schedules, forecast designer’s workloads, and approve timesheets.

•Meet with leadership to discuss staffing needs.

•Advocate for customer first.

•Develop an environment that encourages collaboration, efficiency, and consistency.

•Strong Communication skills

•Ability to define and refine processes to ensure teams execute efficiently.

•Working knowledge of Adobe CS, Sketch, Zeplin, Abstract

•Experience designing mobile app and responsive websites with current portfolio showcasing strong layout, typography, color theory, and strong problem-solving skills.

•Solid understanding of user-centered / human-centered design, UX / UI design, industry standards and trends, usability standards and platform capabilities

•Experience working in an Agile environment.

•Enjoys working in a fast-paced environment

•Previous experience implementing design systems, patterns and guidelines.

•Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

•The ability to educate business stakeholders on the overall design process.

•Ability to thrive in a highly collaborative environment.

•Experience designing mobile apps and responsive websites.

Education and/or Experience

•Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in design, UX, UI, interaction design or similar field

•Minimum of two (2) years of experience leading design teams or design projects

•Bachelor’s degree in related field or 5 + years relevant work experience

•Master's degree in related field

•Experience managing remote teams.

•Fundamental knowledge of HTML, CSS, JS

•Knowledge of information architecture

•Knowledge of SEO

•Proficiency in English and Spanish
