The Accounts Payable Manager plays a crucial role within the Merchandise Accounting leadership team. As a key member, you will oversee the operational activities of the Accounts Payable organization, ensuring financial security and accuracy. Your responsibilities include implementing internal accounting controls, best practices, and checks and balances. Additionally, you’ll drive process efficiencies, manage third-party relationships, create essential metrics, and mentor team members for career growth. Your involvement extends to the design and implementation of a new ERP System.

Responsibilities:

Operational Management:

Lead the Accounts Payable team at the Shared Service Center (SSC) and Business Transaction Shared Service Center (BTSSC).

Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to optimize team performance.

Address payment processing questions and challenges from internal and external customers.

Process Improvement:

Identify opportunities to streamline existing processes within the department.

Enhance internal controls to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Collaboration:

Work closely with the AP Vendor Relations Manager to identify process enhancements that prevent potential merchandise vendor disputes.

Review and approve payment cycles daily, ensuring proper support and approval before disbursement.

Audit and Compliance:

Accommodate internal and external audit requests.

Maintain adherence to financial regulations and company policies.

Team Development:

Manage and develop both exempt and nonexempt personnel, fostering a best-in-class Accounts Payable department.

Vendor Relations:

Oversee Supplier Confirmed Receivables (SCR) program.

Ensure accurate and timely payments to Merchandising vendors.

Administer the Use Account (SUA) Support program

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Lead a team of direct and indirect reports, both domestically and internationally, to achieve shared goals and objectives.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s preferred).

Proven experience as an Accounts Payable Manager in a large organization.

Strong knowledge of accounting principles, internal controls, and financial regulations.

Proficiency in MS Office suite.

Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.

Prior supervisory experience.
