AutoZone, Inc. Accounting Manager of Fixed Assets in Memphis, Tennessee
Summary
The Fixed Assets Manager is an integral part of the Tax team. This position is responsible for driving process improvements and implementing changes across the organization as well as executing the period close process for the Fixed Assets.
Responsibilities
Review and approve balance sheet reconciliations
Review complex journal entries requiring strong accounting and analytical skills to ensure financial reporting complies with US GAAP and company policies
Accommodate internal and external audit requests
Coordinate efforts to drive process improvements across the Tax Organization related to Fixed Assets automation.
Manage, model and forecast depreciation and Capex on a periodic basis
Partner with the Tax and AutoZone Control and Planning Teams to provide accurate forecasting
Partner with Mexico Accounting Team to help drive Mexico fixed asset and forecasting process
Manage the weekly fixed asset flows
Partner with various tax personnel to provide accurate and timely bonus depreciation numbers
Supervise Fixed Asset team personnel
Other key responsibilities as identified
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, with a minimum of five years related experience or equivalent required.
Supervisory experience
MBA or CPA preferred
Strong research, analytical and problem solving skills
Advanced Microsoft Excel
Strong procedure development and implementation skills, and demonstrated process improvement ability
Ability to manage competing priorities and meet constant deadlines.
Ability to generate bold, creative ideas to improve processes and performance
Excellent Communication Skills (Written & Verbal).
Ability to succeed in a team environment
Ability to adapt quickly and learn new tasks independently
